Village History Archive

Collected, catalogued and maintained by the Mackrell Charity

About this Archive

The idea for a website arose from the celebrations held in 2010 for the 150th anniversary of the rededication of St Mary’s church. After an appeal to the village, a large number of photographs and documents were recorded with the help of the Mackrell Charity. Much of this material is now on the website, arranged loosely in categories. There are many interesting historical documents relating to the village as well as photographs in this collection.

The archive is held jointly between the Mackrell Charity and Sturminster Marshall Parish Council and is administered by two volunteers.
